Today, we explore the oldest city in North America! Marvel at the views from Signal Hill and Cabot Tower, stroll through the charming streets lined with the famous “Jelly Bean Houses,” and visit the picturesque village of Quidi Vidi. We’ll also stand at Cape Spear, North America’s most easterly point – where the ocean stretches endlessly before you. Explore downtown St John’s before we head to the Admiral Coast to admire uniquely named fishing villages. In the evening, the fun continues on George Street, renowned for its lively pubs and local music. Savour classic Newfoundland fare and soak up the incredible atmosphere.

This morning, we travel to the Southern Shore of the Avalon Peninsula along the winding coastline of the beautiful Irish Loop, dotted with charming outport communities. Step back in time at the Colony of Avalon, a beautifully preserved 17th-century archaeological site, and enjoy a delicious local lunch in Ferryland. Later, we head to Bay Bulls, where we will be on the lookout for Atlantic Puffins, Murres, and other seabirds in their natural habitat. We’ll cap off the day with dinner and local entertainment.

Today, we venture along the rugged coastline of Conception Bay, once home to legendary pirates. Get your cameras ready as we explore historic villages like Holyrood and Brigus, known for their deep maritime roots and the tales of famed Captain Bob Bartlett. Lunch is served at a historic courthouse in Harbour Grace, followed by scenic stops before we settle into Clarenville for the next two nights.

Walk in the footsteps of John Cabot as we visit Bonavista, where he first landed in 1497. Explore the Ryan Premises and learn about the fishing traditions that have shaped this region for centuries. Enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery. In Elliston, “Root Cellar Capital of the World,” we’ll meet more adorable puffins and visit the touching “Home from the Sea” exhibit. Then, it’s off to Trinity, the gem of the island. It’s one of the oldest communities in North America and one of the most picturesque villages in Newfoundland. Explore its charming shops and galleries.

We start the day winding around the beautiful coastline of Terra Nova National Park, stopping at the Marine Interpretation Centre and the fishing village of Salvage. After a delightful seaside lunch, we continue to Gander – a town known worldwide for its incredible acts of kindness during the 9/11 events, inspiring the hit Broadway musical *Come From Away*. Tonight, we share dinner and music in this extraordinary town.

Today, we head “Down North” on the “Road to Isles” before travelling across “Tickles and Runs” to spend time on beautiful Twillingate Island, which is one of Newfoundland’s oldest fishing communities. We’ll start the morning with a visit to the Beothuk Centre in Boyd’s Cove. Then it’s off to one of Newfoundland’s oldest fishing communities, where we’ll visit the lighthouse at Crow Head, sample local wines at Auk Island Winery, and enjoy free time to explore the area’s historic properties and local shops before returning to Gander.

This morning, it’s a leisurely trip to the central Newfoundland logging town of Grand Falls-Windsor, stopping at the Exploits River to watch Atlantic salmon navigate the fishways on this massive river system. Later, we continue to the beautiful town of King’s Point for a seaside lunch and a visit to a whaling exhibit and pottery studio. We then go to Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mother Nature takes center stage today as we explore the awe-inspiring landscapes of Gros Morne National Park. Mother Nature took 485 million years to create this place unlike any other on Earth. The park is a never-ending series of wonders and delights, demonstrating the physical world’s spectacularly raw and enigmatic beauty. We travel by boat in the sheltered arms of Boone Bay to view its spectacular scenery, including the Tableland Mountains, one of the features that earned the park its UNESCO World Heritage. It’s often nicknamed the “Galapagos of Plate Tectonics”. A boat tour through the stunning Bonne Bay offers unforgettable views of the Tablelands — a geological marvel that earned the park its UNESCO status. Become an honorary Newfoundlander by taking part in a lively “Screech-In” ceremony. This afternoon, we dive deeper into the park’s history and beauty at the Discovery Centre.
